My work in progress... Rocker cover fitted today (thanks Fran). Still got to clean the expansion tank and paint or polish the exhaust heat shield. The slam panel also needs stripping, rust proofing and re-painting.

How did you go about restoring the horns (these are the worst part of mine)? The horn bracket on mine was really rusty, so I attacked it with a wire brush attachment in my electric drill for starters, then left it fully sumerged in 'rusteater' for 24 hours, before brushing again, then painting with several coats of Hammerite smooth black. The horns are a cheat. Pair of red top snail horns from eBay for less than a tenner. Job done!

1998 20V Done 3 days ago, 1 hours work (not including rocker cover and grill) Before After Joe, this rocker was sprayed with Halfords Lacquer over VHT, as I have with a few others. No issues with bubbling at all.

Does the laquer not bubble once it's gotten hot? I did a rocker cover a few years ago and it looked great until I fitted it and warmed up the engine. Then loads of little bubbles appeared in the laquer. you need to give it a dusting of etch primer and use a vht paint otherwise it will bubble .
