Forget ISA's as rates are pathetic
Went from a Tessa to a PIP ( Personal Investment Trust ). Typical return past 7 years is a average of 14% year on year on low and medium risk stocks and shares.

Ive run S&S ISA for quite a few years.
Even with losing a fair amount on a couple of firms that went to the wall in spectacular style, Ive come out (so far!) really well.
BUT it is a risk, even if you put your lump into firms you think are safe because theyve been around for decades.
Inside or outside an ISA - only invest in shares with money you are happy to lose, its potentially a dangerous game of roulette.
